Reviewed what makes an effective topic sentence. Then we went through how to write a strong example with explanation. I passed back your outline that you turned in Friday of last week and you then had the remainder of the time to work on revising your paragraph as a rough draft using the new skills and checklist I handed out. I then demonstrated how to use these tools when reading to see how the author supports their purpose and shows their point of view through the use of rhetoric and rhetorical devices.
