Pre-writing Day - Choose your essay prompt and begin brainstorming ideas on how to respond. I have examples of how you can brainstorm in the classroom if you need help organizing your ideas. Otherwise, you can use thinking maps (circle map, bubble map, tree map, etc.) to begin your thinking. You need to have a thesis statement ready to show me by the end of the period; tomorrow at the latest. HOMEWORK: Finish pre-writing and thesis statement.

Socratic Seminar #1 We reviewed what expectations would be during an academic conversation, including the language scripts in your Socratic seminar packet. Today we watched an academic conversation on StudySync. Choose one of the students to follow and track their part of the academic conversation in your packet. Then, answer the three video questions.
