Two handouts today. The first gives background information about the poem we're going to read. The second is vocabulary. Follow the instructions at the top of the handout. You'll record the words and how familiar you are with them. Here are the words:
HOMEWORK: None. Project presentation day. If you were absent for the majority of this project, you will do an alternate assignment from the poster. You will still view the different projects today in order to learn about the rhetorical appeals. Then, you will use the following document and find one example of each rhetorical appeal in the text, The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano. I included a video to explain the appeals. Feel free to Google more information in order to understand how they are used.

Per. 1-2 - SOAPS-LT with Equiano text (see yesterday's post) Period 4-5 - Rhetorical appeals project intro. I did a presentation in class to demonstrate what you'll do for your project. Then I passed out the project description/instructions and you chose your appeal. Period 6 - Newsela article and in-class debate. This will not go in the gradebook and cannot be made up.
