First Read: De-Extinction p. 61 We did a little background and discussion on extinction before we began reading. I passed out a handout where we will summarize the passages as we read. Today we finished reading the first of the two essay about de-extinction. HOMEWORK: Frankenstein Chapters 18-20. Read, summarize, and answer reading questions. DUE MONDAY. Using the imagery quotes you found yesterday, respond to the prompt at the end on a separate sheet of paper. Your response should use two sentences of evidence.

Chapter 6-8 notes and summary sheet. On one side, take notes as you read, summarize the chapter, and make a prediction about what happens next. On the other side are reading questions. Discussion of how Mary Shelley uses the semicolon within Frankenstein. See paragraph 3 of chapter 5 for a good example. Take notes on allusion. We are working on reading comprehension strategies that you can use while reading Frankenstein. Today, each pair of you defined and described one strategy to the class. Your learning log is to pick two strategies that you will use while reading tonight. HOMEWORK: Read ch. 4-5 Using two different colors of highlighters, highlight the text where you find character traits for Prometheus in one color, and character traits for Jupiter in another. You may work with a partner if you would like.
