Warm up: Vocab #2 `1/4
Quickwrite: According to your understanding of The Sports Gene except and the “Losing Control” blast, what is your opinion about how much control we have over our lives? Are we born with abilities or do we have to work to be good at something?
Read "Outliers: The Story of Success." Then do the following:
Step 1: Highlight and annotate your text where you find the answers to the following questions.
Finish Step 2.
Warm up: Pronoun Practice
First Read: The Sports Gene
Read through The Sports Gene on page 5 of your Destiny booklet. On a separate sheet of paper, answer the Think questions.
Warm up: Pronouns. If you ran out of time and didn't finish your pronouns, you need to get the rest from a neighbor.
Today we did a first read of "The Sports Gene". We read the text aloud as a class from our consumables and then you read through the text again, annotating for vocabulary and main ideas.
