Warm up: Spend 10 minutes gathering definitions for vocabulary and/or studying. Vocab test is on Tuesday! In the same Holocaust magazine as yesterday, we looked at articles about how genocide happened in more places than just in Europe during the Holocaust. Then we looked at the conflict and Genocide in Rwanda in the 1990s. We finished the period watching the first half of Hotel Rwanda. HOMEWORK: Study for your vocab test on Tuesday!

Warm up: no lifeline, just work on finding definitions for vocabulary words for 5 minutes at the start of class.
I found some cool magazines on the Holocaust so we read through p. 26-27 about the liberation (freeing) of the concentration camps. Then write at least a half a page responding to the reflection questions at the bottom of p. 27. I also introduced your final project to you. This is a Totally 100 board. Choose whichever activities you would like that add up to 100 points. YES you can do up to 100 extra points for extra credit! This will all be due on the day of your final: June 7. First Read: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. We listened to the audio of the first chapter of The Book Thief. Then we looked for examples of imagery within the text. After, we started watching the Sync TV discussion the students had on this text, pausing to answer questions along the way. HOMEWORK: Read to p. 78 in Night. Warm up: Vocab
Figurative Language #2 I handed out a worksheet for you to look through your book for examples of figurative language. There are three parts so be sure to flip to the back!
