Reassessment Day: You may retake the grammar test on Building Compound and Complex Sentences if you have completed all of the assigned practice. You have today to finish making inferences and your AXES paragraph from yesterday. This was a handout yesterday and you should be done with Part 2 and Part 3 by tomorrow. Turn in to the INBOX when you're finished. I passed out a rubric for how I will score all short responses (AXES paragraphs) this year. You will hold onto this rubric and use it as a reference tool to improve your writing. HOMEWORK: Finish if not done in class. Warm up: go back and look at the answers to the "Your Turn" multiple choice on text evidence. Explain why the correct answers are the right choice.
Yesterday, you learned how to use your own knowledge, experiences, and observations to help figure out things an author doesn’t directly state in the text. You also learned how to find the most relevant textual evidence that supports your inference. Today, you will use those skills to complete the worksheet handed out in class.
