Warm up: Take 5 minutes to prepare to present your conformist or nonconformist poster you created yesterday.
Presentations went well! Afterwards, we discussed how the terms "conformist" and "nonconformist" relate to being part of a group or being an individual. As a class we decided that conformists are usually part of a group and nonconformists are oftentimes individuals, though there are always exceptions. After presentations, I passed out vocabulary charts to get us familiar with some of the words in "The Sociology of Leopard Man." There are extra copies in the absent bin in the back of the room. Start your vocabulary chart by marking how familiar you are with each of the terms. I then passed out the definitions and gave you time to work in groups of four to match the definitions to the terms. Once you had the definitions next to the correct terms, you were to copy down the definitions, making your own vocab chart. HOMEWORK: Finish your vocab chart if not finished in class.
