DUE: Novel Discovery Questions
We are substituting 10 minutes of silent reading each day for the lifelines through the end of the year. Each day we will start with 10 minutes of silent reading so you will need to bring your book with you each day. If you don't have your book with you, you'll need to pick up one off of the back shelf for the day. I will not let you go to the library during class unless you finish the book you checked out.
Two handouts today:
Choose your own book! There are only 4 requirements for the book you choose:
- at least 300 pages
- not a movie
- at your reading level
- a continuous story
I passed out novel discovery reading questions. You'll need to answer 8 of the 13 questions and turn them in to me on Monday. (Wednesday if you were absent and got the questions from me on Monday.)

Warm up: Write 4 sentences for your vocab words from Monday.
Work on research for your letter.
Warm up: How can you determine if a resource is credible?
Two presentations today. First is the H.E.R.O. training for what to do in case of an emergency. If you have any questions, please ask. We will have a drill next week.
Second presentation is on evaluating resources. We started taking notes in class. Since we didn't have time to finish, you'll need to continue taking notes at home so you're ready to research tomorrow.
