We are going to write letters to a congress person. You get to choose your topic and what you want to change. You're going to do all the research, including who you're writing to, and I'll help you draft your letter. We're actually going to send these letters by mail to the representative or senator you've chosen. Here are some questions to consider:

Quick write (10-15 mins): Recently, the political scene has been anything but quiet. Since the last presidential election, many issues have been fiercely debated on both sides. What issue has stood out the most to you? How much do you know about this issue? What are your thoughts upon the topic and why do you feel that way? Today's assignment is on Google Classroom. Essentially I'm asking you to find an article from The Atlantic on the topic you wrote on for your quick write and fill out a SOAPS-LT chart. HOMEWORK: Have your article read and annotated. |
