None. 1. I passed back vocab tests and went over the correct answers. Congrats to my As! So many more this time around!
2. We read up to page 14 in the first section of Night. 3. Fill out character chart for Moshe the Beadle, Eliezer, and Schlomo. HOMEWORK: Work on character chart. 1. Vocabulary activity on Google Classroom. Use context clues to determine the meaning of each vocabulary word listed. Then write a show-you-know sentence. Instructions are on the activity. See me if you have questions or need clarification.
2. Read through the first three pages of Night. Answer the question: According to Moshe the Beadle, how does someone become closer to God? 3. I passed out a character chart. Begin filling out quotes from the text that tell us more about our characters' personal description, inner desires, and important traits. HOMEWORK: Finish vocabulary activity. Went to the library today to check out the book Night by Elie Wiesel. We then came back and took Cornell notes on the author and on the major themes presented in his book. We also watched Oprah's interview with Elie Wiesel. HOMEWORK:
None. Presentations for the webquest were turned in on Google Classroom. Then, each group presented the information that they found within their webquest as the rest of the class took notes on each presentation. If you were absent, you need to come see me so you can get the information and complete your own Cornell notes.
HOMEWORK: None. Today you worked on your webquests for most of the period. At the end we got through one presentation and you took Cornell notes online as you listened to the presentations.
Tomorrow, if you did not present today, you and your group will present your findings to the class. HOMEWORK: Finish webquest and presentation. We started class today by discussing the last two images from our gallery walk.
I split the class into 6 groups to work on a WebQuest for our upcoming novel Night. Working in your team, you will research your topic and make a Google Slides presentation that you will present to the class. Presentations will be Friday. HOMEWORK: None. (Non)conformity project presentation day. Your group presented in small groups and then did a peer evaluation.
After presentations, we started preparing to read a new book. We did a gallery walk around the room. For each of the 8 images, write down what you see in the picture, and what you can infer from what you see. We began discussing inferences as a class. If you were absent, you will need to make this up at lunch or after school. HOMEWORK: None. SUB DAY
