We did a mock AP writing prompt. You had the entire period to respond to the prompt in essay form. See me to make up this assignment if you were gone.

After going over some of the expectations for this class, like the late-work policy and grading system (all can be found on the syllabus posted on this page under "Important Info" and also on the "About" tab), we played a vocabulary game to get you ready for your vocab test on List R on Friday.
Today was the second day to work on your multiple choice AP exam. Half of the period was for you to work individually and the second half was for collaborating with your table partners about the answers. We will go through each of the speeches and their questions later.
Turn in: Book Selfie
Warm up: None. We will get on a normal warm-up schedule next week. Today, you took a mock AP multiple choice test. You had most of the period to answer the 52 questions. You will have about 10 minutes tomorrow to finish in class and record your answers on a separate answer key. HOMEWORK: Whatever you need to finish for your summer work. Work day: Finish summer reading and vocabulary assignments. Both can be found on Google Classroom.
Monday we will take an in-class mock AP multiple choice exam. We signed on to Google Classroom today. Come see me if you need the code. Summer reading and vocab can be found here. If you're not ready for the quiz on the Scarlet Letter or the vocab by 8/18 you will need to see me to clear the zero.
I also passed out "Truth's a Dog" a manuscript by Mr. Stanford that we will be utilizing throughout the year. You will need to bring this with you each day you come to class. I suggest keeping it in either it's own binder, or a larger binder for all your classwork. You could also get it bound at Staples or Office Depot. I ran out of copies so if you need one, go see Mr. Stanford in room 501 (past the 900s in the Ramon Academy). Book selfie assignment: Take a selfie with your favorite book and upload it to Google Classroom. Then fill out the half sheet of paper passed out in class about why this is your favorite. DUE: Monday August 14 by 3:30. HOMEWORK: Prepare notes for vocab and Scarlet Letter. Read chapter 1 of "Truth's a Dog." Be prepared to discuss on Wednesday. |
