No School Monday

Tuesday
  1. Go over background info and read the Declaration of Independence.
  2. "Chunk" DOI into sections based upon content. Draw a line across the page to indicate chunks.

Wednesday - Friday
Stations
  1. Station 1: SOAPS (handout)
You know what to do! Fill out the SOAPS part of the SOAPS-LT chart. You will do the L and the T at other stations so don’t worry about them so much at this point. Don’t forget that you need evidence from the text for EACH answer you give.
  2. Station 2: Rhetorical Appeals  (handout)
At this station, you’ll read through the text again, focusing on where the author uses rhetorical appeals to persuade his or her audience. Get out your rhetorical appeals notes from your binder to help you with this activity.
  3. Station 3: Vocab & Comprehension
Log into StudySync and find the assignment with the same title as the text. Complete the vocabulary and reading comprehension questions. Review your answers when complete.
  4. Station 4: LT (handout)
With Mrs. Sanchez. Direct instruction on the (L) Literary device of anaphora and it's effect on the text. Direct instruction on (T) Tone with a handout of common tone words.

Friday
After all the stations were done, I added a short response to the end of the assignment from Station 3 on StudySync. You will respond to the prompt with a well-written response and do TWO peer reviews using the rubric. This is the same kind of question you may see on the final with the same rubric. We will go over examples of high scoring answers next week. DUE by Monday, Nov. 19th.

HOMEWORK:
Should be none, but if anything was not completed in class then it needs to be turned in when we return from break. Happy Thanksgiving!
