2. The Great Gatsby Webquest. This can be found on Google Classroom. You will need headphones for this, as there are videos with sound. HOMEWORK: None. We will go to the library tomorrow to get The Great Gatsby. Then you will finish the webquest. Tomorrow's homework will be to read chapter 1. Plan ahead if you might be busy. You may want to finish your webquest at home and read chapter 1 in class tomorrow. 1. Poll: What kind of first impression do you want people to have of you? 2. 2. Read Thomas Paine's Speech to the Virginia Convention on page 120 of your textbook. Then answer reading questions 1-5, 10. HOMEWORK: Finish. 1. Work on your essays. Whatever you need to do, get it done. HOMEWORK: Finish up essays. You should be done with peer edits and revisions at this point. We went to the library today so you can print and find a partner to proofread with. Once you make your proofreading changes, you're done!
HOMEWORK: Work on essay! It's due MONDAY! 1. Warm up: Subject-Verb agreement practice
2. Peer Edit 1: complete one peer edit and make revisions to YOUR copy of the essay (not the peer edited copy). 3. Get a second peer edit for extra credit if you have time. HOMEWORK: Print your essay to bring to class tomorrow. 1. Resubmit your first draft with your self edits shown in green. I will return it back to you.
2. Do your revisions by accepting your self edits. Click the check-mark in the corner of each suggestion box on the right hand side of your document. 3. Make 2 copies of your document. Label these "(Last name) Peer Edit 1" and "(Last name) Peer Edit 2". Find a partner who is also on this step, and switch. Make sure "suggesting" is chosen in the upper right hand corner, and do a peer edit using the same sheet as the self edit. HOMEWORK: Keep working on your essay. If you have not completed step 3, make sure you work on getting there before tomorrow. 1. Rough drafts turned in on Google Classroom. 2. Self-edit.
